No matter how you put it, 2020 was the year of capital Cs. Rewind just a bit, and everyone in the video game community was looking forward to the long-overdue release of Cyberpunk 2077. Hell, “looking forward” is an understatement.

Steam Has Emerged as the Mainstay for Cyberpunk Video Games. Cyberpunk is a genre that I feel always translates well to games. It drips with style and has the versatility to fit into multiple types of games. Cyberpunk games offer both high-octane action and a thoughtful story.

Who is Johnny Silverhand? More people have been asking this question since the figure was seen in the popular Cyberpunk 2077 trailer, played by internet treasure Keanu Reeves. This newfound curiosity calls for a revisiting of this enigmatic character’s roots.

With Cyberpunk 2077 now delayed until November, let’s take a moment to talk about one of the best old-school cyberpunk games of all time: Shadowrun on Sega Genesis. The game is a moderately faithful recreation of the pen & paper Shadowrun game, except with some of its weaker points blissfully altered for sensible gameplay.

The excitement surrounding Cyberpunk 2077 has steadily risen. Following the monumental success of The Witcher 3 in 2015, the hype reached new heights when CD Projekt Red held its first Cyberpunk 2077 gameplay presentation during E3 2018.

Well, it happened. We got the longest look at Cyberpunk 2077 gameplay and features since . . . a while ago. Admittedly, I was more of a Shadowrun kind of guy back in the day, only dabbling in Cyberpunk 2020 when I found someone willing to roll dice and not deal with dwarves, swords, and Gandalf. However, this recent live stream has converted me. I’m no longer reining in my expectations; I have succumbed to the hype. Let me show you why.

We’ve dug through Archive.org to bring you early perspective from the creators of Cyberpunk 2077. Up first is the introduction to the Cyberpunk 2077 blog itself from Mateusz Kanik, who at the time was the Cyberpunk 2077 Game Director.

Uh oh. Claire “Grimes” Boucher might have spoiled some CyberPunk 2077 details in a live stream with fans earlier this week. Of course, this post may spoil a potential plot point for Cyberpunk 2077. You have been warned.

We’re pleased to let you know that the line of Cyberpunk 2077 Funko Pops have been announced. With four figures total (and a fifth, secret character), the distribution of characters is a little strange. Funko has delivered two forms of the Keanu Reeves character, Johnny Silverhand. This is great, as he’s the lead singer of Cyberpunk fan-favorite band, Samurai. We wonder what other characters will be added, since the only options left are the male/female versions of V, the games’ protagonist.
