Uh oh. Claire “Grimes” Boucher might have spoiled some CyberPunk 2077 details in a live stream with fans earlier this week.
Of course, this post may spoil a potential plot point for Cyberpunk 2077. You have been warned.
Grimes has a new album out titled Miss Anthropocene, which came out earlier this month. To celebrate the release, the singer went on YouTube for a short live stream chat with her fans.
While there’s no problem chatting with fans, she may have let slip some important details in Cyberpunk 2077. To fuel the discussion, the video has now been made private on YouTube.
In the upcoming CD Projekt Red game, Grimes will be performing as a character named Lizzy Wizzy. The character is the controversial frontwoman for the band Lizzy Wizzy and the Metradwarves.
During the live stream chat, she reveals a huge plot for her character that takes place during a live performance in the game.
Again, spoilers below. You have been warned…again!
Grimes begins by confirming she is indeed part of the game. “I did my voice acting for Lizzy Wizzy, (and) that game is going to be f*cking good,” she explains in the video chat. “I mean, I haven’t played it, but I saw someone play an hour of the game.”
“I play a pop star who committed suicide on stage,” explains Grimes. “And they had to quickly come and perform emergency surgery and replace her whole body with cybernetics while she was dead for an hour and then she finished the show as a cyborg. One of the greatest pieces of performance art ever made.”
Many raise the question of is this just a piece of the character’s backstory that will be mentioned in the game, or will players be able to witness the event?
An archive of the live stream on YouTube was available on Grimes’ channel for some time after she ended the chat with fans, but is now private. It’s unclear why that decision was made to make the video private, but we can only assume it has to do with the potential spoilers Grimes leaked.
After the news broke about the potential spoilers, fans starting to put pieces together, adding Grimes’ comments to images already released. A member of the Cyberpunk 2077 Reddit community noticed something interesting in the original E3 demo of the game that was shown to the press and media in 2018. As the player character wakes up and goes to look out the window at Night City, a headline appears in the heads-up display:

The headline says “Death at Lizzy Wizzy Concert.”
From that headline, it’s unclear if the two pieces of information are related in any way. It’s reported that the future portrayed in Cyberpunk 2077 is extremely violent, so it could be just a storyline about a death at the concert, and not about Lizzy Wizzy herself.
Also, Grimes performed her song for Cyberpunk 2077’s soundtrack at The Game Awards in late 2019. The song is called ‘4ÆM,’ and is also on her album.
No clue if these pieces of storyline information will be confirmed by the production offices, but it adds to the hype of the game that will be released later this year.
Are there more stars to be announced?
If you have been following along with us as the development of Cyberpunk 2077 moves ahead, you’ll be aware that Grimes is not the only big-name star set to appear in the game.
Actor Keanu Reeves will play Johnny Silverhead in the game, acting as a player-companion for the majority of the game and playtime. According to reports, Reeves has the second-most lines of recorded dialog of any character in the game. This fact suggests his role is no cameo.
With Reeves and Grimes confirmed for the game, who else will have their name attached?
Cyberpunk 2077 will hit PS4, Xbox One, and PC on September 17, and will eventually be available on the Xbox Series X console. Eventually, the game will be available on the PS5.
