Most cyberpunk movies zig and zag between the conventional space of sci-fi entertainment. It’s incredibly visual, action packed and dances around some sort of socio-political message. But there isn’t a single cyberpunk film that gets to the root of the human condition more than Spike Jonze’ romantic film Her.

The Matrix Reloaded is one of the few films that completely validate a nerd’s taste in film. This is the second film in one of the most epic, fascinating and original trilogies in modern cinema. It was brought to life by the incredibly talented Lana and Lily Wachowski. In the first Matrix film, they created new camera techniques and changed how Hollywood made action movies. From that base, they built upon a most excellent sequel.

We live in the age of information. Whether this is so because it is the most advanced material at our command, as in the naming rights to the Iron Age, or whether this is our primary scientific area of pursuit and exploration, as in the Space Age or Atomic Age, information is the currency. The very least reason is that information is everywhere, and there is always more information ready to invade our space. So how do we get the attention of the brooding masses to arouse them in pursuit of a worthy cause?

This, for me, ends up being the most interesting aspect of this novel, and also the worst.

Below are the best cyberpunk films Netflix has to offer. Even with the changing parade of TV and movies that Netflix has, a few classics have been able to stay in steady rotation.
What Is Cyberpunk? A Neon City In The Rain? The scene opens on a rainy, smog-shrouded, hypercapitalist, neon, surveillance state and the viewer is dropped in without context. There’s an inciting incident to plunge you into the story, and you, the viewer, are gripped for the next two hours. Any scene setting is left to the imagination, and questions of why the world is this way, and how it came to be, are left to fan fiction and speculation. This is the future. Deal with it.

The 2015 hit coming-of-age tale with a remarkable twist spotlights a robot being raised by gangsters. The film itself did well and more than doubled its budget of $49 million. It was another successful feather in the film making cap of Blomkamp as a writer and director. The film is a bad-ass fun watch with crazy characters and insane action. Chappie is well worth anyone’s time to check out.

With four figures total (and a fifth, secret character), the distribution of characters is a little strange. Funko has delivered two forms of the Keanu Reeves character, Johnny Silverhand. This is great, as he's the lead singer of Cyberpunk fan-favorite band, Samurai. We wonder what other characters will be added, since the only options left are the male/female versions of V, the games' protagonist.
